A new trailer for System Shock 3 has been published, which shows off the sequel’s spooky and squishy pre-alpha gameplay.

‘Run rabbit run, you won’t get far,’ SHODAN intones over clips of the ruined space station, populated with grotesque cyborgs and mutated humans that hunt down the protagonist. It’s very Dead Space-y and SOMA-y, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as OtherSide Entertainment has evidently succeeded at replicating the horrifying atmosphere of the original System Shocks. Along with the trusty wrench, we got a glimpse at a few weapons at our disposal to dispatch the enemies; a sci fi shotgun, an electrifying bolt gun, and a freezing gun.

Terri Brosius returns as the voice of SHODAN, and the rogue AI compliments humanity’s capabilities for violence, though she has suggestions for further work. All in all, System Shock 3 looks very good so far, and it’s slated for a PC launch in 2020. Watch the gameplay trailer below.
