System Shock 3 has been officially announced as in development at OtherSide Entertainment, with key members of the original development teams confirmed to be working on the sequel.
Several years back OtherSide secured the IP rights to all future versions of the System Shock franchise, but it was only more recently that the studio partnered with Night Dive Studios – owner of the System Shock – that OtherSide got the rights to use the System Shock name for the sequel.
The game is currently in the early concept stages of development, with key members from the original development teams involved. This includes Paul Neurath, who oversaw the original series’ development; Nate Wells, a senior artist on System Shock 2; and Waters, the lead concept artist of both original games.
OtherSide has also confirmed that Terri Brosius, voice of SHODAN, will reprise the role in the sequel.
