Enhance Games has released the critically acclaimed psychedelic rail shooter Rez Infinite on Steam and the Oculus Store. Rez Infinite is the ultimate version of the beloved rail shooter originally released on Sega Dreamcast over 15 years ago. Now it returns (following a period of exclusivity on PS4/PSVR) fully remastered in up to 4K resolution, with double the texture quality, advanced graphical options and mouse support.

Rez Infinite for PC includes full VR support through the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. The game can also be played without the VR function on a regular monitor, ensuring that those without VR won’t be left out. The PC release of Rez Infinite includes remastered levels from the original game and the new Area X level.

Enhance Games founder and Rez creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi says that the PC release is ‘the best version yet’, which you’d expect him to say. The PC version supports multiple controllers and mouse support, unrestricted resolution and has a new View Mode that lets players ‘take in the environment, or capture great moments’, which basically translates into an awesome photo-mode.

Rez Infinite sells for £19.99, but is currently being sold at a discounted launch price of £15.99 for two weeks. Players who buy the game in the launch period will get some free content, which includes a seven track Area X digital soundtrack sampler by Hydelic, a digital excerpt from the Rez Infinite Retrospective art book (the full version can be bought at iam8bit), 20 desktop wallpapers and a set of original avatars.

There’s also a limited run PC Collector’s Edition that you can get directly from iam8bit. This comes with a cassette tape featuring the same Area X tracks in the Digital Deluxe DLC, a digital download of the tracks and a Steam code for the game. It’s limited to 888 units.

Rez Infinite is out now on PS4 and PC. It will be released on Google’s Daydream later this year.
