Originally pencilled in for an early 2008 release, Hellbent Games’ Xbox 360 port of Gas Powered Games’ Supreme Commander is now set for release in late spring or early summer.

“The benefit of having independent companies such as Aspyr and its partners working on a project of this magnitude is that decisions like this can be executed quickly,” said Aspyr marketing manager Eric Duncan. “While the game will be hitting shelves later than originally expected, the additional time put into development will result in better gameplay and more fun for gamers.”

The Xbox 360 version will feature new units, updated maps, new multiplayer modes, support for Xbox LIVE, a revised console-specific control scheme and a new strategic zoom which offers the ability to control troops from afar or get really close at ground level.
