The Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. will release in the UK on December 5, Nintendo has announced.

The announcement follows shortly after the 3DS version’s release in the UK last Friday.

The Wii U version will be available to buy in numerous editions, including the standard edition, a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U + Mario amiibo bundle, and a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U + GameCube Controller Adapter bundle. Prices for either of the two bundles have yet to be confirmed by Nintendo.

Smash Bros’ launch will be preceded by the arrival of Nintendo’s Amiibo figurines, which sees the first wave arriving one week earlier on November 28. A second wave featuring new characters Zelda, Diddy Kong, Luigi, Little Mac, Pit and Captain Falcon will arrive one month later on Decemer 19.

More Amiibo characters are set to launch “throughout 2015”, Nintendo says, along with support for additional games.

To mark the announcement, Nintendo released a new trailer showing off some of the characters you’ll get to fight as in Smash Bros. Wii U, and providing an early look at the new Amiibo characters.
