A leaked design brief has outed Super Smash Bros. Universe for Wii U. There’s no word from Nintendo on how genuine this is, however.

While a Super Smash Bros. title was confirmed for Wii U at this year’s E3, there has been no formal name attached to the project until now.

The brief shows both a Japanese and an English logo, where the ‘U’ in Universe is the same ‘U’ that’s used in the Wii U logo.

Other details have emerged from a translation of the Japanese text. The game will continue the trend set in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for third party characters, hinting that characters such as Sonic or Solid Snake could be included. The tripping mechanic – which saw characters trip over themselves during a dash – is going to be scrapped, and Samus will be given a speed-boost after her appearance in Metroid Other M.

Nintendo currently has “no comment” on the leak, or its validity.
