Super Smash Bros. for 3DS launched this week in Japan and has already sold over a million copies across retail and digital, Nintendo Japan has announced
The multiplayer brawler becomes the fourth 3DS title to reach a million sales in its first week, following Monster Hunter 4, Pokemon X/Y and Youkai Watch 2.
Furthermore, Nintendo has said it has shipped over a million retail editions of the game, with more hitting stores this week.
A free playable demo will be released via the Nintendo eShop on September 19. The 30-time play demo features Smash mode with five playable characters (Mario, Villager, Link, Pikachu and Mega Man), one stage (Battlefield) and local wireless multiplayer.
The game hits UK stores on October 3, with the Wii U version still expected by the year end.
