Super Smash Bros. for 3DS continues to do gangbusters in Japan

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS has held on to a second week atop the Japanese video game chart, reports Media Create.

For the week ended September 21, the mass-fighter brawler sold 321,363 copies bringing its two week retail sales total to 1.27 million copies.

3DS system sales also jumped up to 43,592 units.

Bayonetta 2 is the week’s highest new entry. The Wii U exclusive action title claims third place with 38,828 copies sold, helping Wii U console sales climb to 8,396 units. Elsewhere Mario Kart 8 takes 9th spot with its life-to-date figure now at 672,313 copies.

Destiny on PS4 drops four places to sixth, while the PS3 version holds in fourth.
