Sucker Punch believes launching its high profile PS3 sequel inFamous 2 during E3 week is “great … from a customer stand point.”

The game hits US stores on June 7, followed in the UK on June 10.

Asked if Sucker Punch was worried by the launch date, producer Brian Fleming told VideoGamer.com: “It worries us about the journalists… I think it’s bigger for the industry – for fans. We’re making sure we do a good job in trying to get people the chance to review the game before they head off to E3.”

He added: “You worry about everything, you worry about it getting bad reviews. You know, the timing is not – I support the timing, I think it’s a great window for us, from a customer stand point.”

Despite Fleming’s apparent satisfaction with the June 7/10 release date, we can’t help but think the game will struggle to break out from under the weight of what’s set to be a hugely exciting E3 for gamers – Nintendo’s new console, the NGP and much, much more.
