Street Fighter X Tekken will receive all updates via downloads, Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono has revealed.
Speaking to Gematsu, Ono said that fans needn’t be concerned that updates to the crossover fighting title would be made via a new retail release – as has been the case with Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs Capcom 3.
“If we decide to create a new version of the game, we will go with the Street Fighter IV series route, by providing online update patches for the game,” Ono explained.
“So I would say that you don’t really need to worry about a new version of the game coming out. If we choose to update the game, it will be done in the same fashion as Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.”
With the release of Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Capcom finally offered the content as DLC for Super Street Fighter IV or as a separate retail release. It sounds like this will be the pattern followed by Capcom with SF X Tekken.
