Street Fighter x Tekken due before April 2012

Capcom hasn’t given Street Fighter x Tekken an official release date, but a launch before April 2012 seems likely. The publisher has released a projected shipment figure of 2 million units through to the end of its fiscal year, ending March 31, 2012, meaning the game has to be in stores prior to that date.

Street Fighter x Tekken is in development at Capcom and will feature Tekken characters making their debut in the Street Fighter world. Namco Bandai’s Tekken x Street Fighter will feature Street Fighter characters bringing the fight to the Tekken world, but a release window is currently unclear.

Capcom is no stranger to releasing key titles in the first quarter of a calendar year, with Street Fighter IV and Lost Planet both previously hitting in what was traditionally a quiet release period.
