A Street Fighter V Cinematic Story expansion will be released June 2016 as a free update to all players, Capcom has announced.
The story is set between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III, and provides a cinematic story experience never before offered in a Street Fighter game.
The shipping game will, however, include story elements from day one. Players will be able to play through individual character stories which promise to reveal important background information on each of the characters. The stories feature a throwback art style from Bengus, an acclaimed Japanese illustrator who has worked on past Street Fighter projects.
These character stories promise to lead nicely into the cinematic story expansion.
In addition, Capcom has revealed that completing character stories and other single player content will earn players Fight Money which can be used to purchase DLC such as new characters and more. The first of this DLC will be available in March, and will also be available to buy using real money.
A final Street Fighter V beta will take place January 30-31 as a bonus to all fans. More info will be made available soon.
Street Fighter V will launch February 16.
