In this alternate history, King Louis XVI is a power-hungry plotter and built this army of automatas to ensure the country bends to his will. Aegis, another automaton and bodyguard of Queen Marie Antoinette, is given orders to seek and destroy the despot and his deranged forces, and the player will explore sites like the Grand Châtelet and the Square du Temple in Paris. The developer has put a lot of time into developing the city as well as the outlandish premise, and promises sidequests galore. Additionally, Aegis is upgradeable for harder hits, health, or speed, and is able to collect weapons to integrate into her arm blades. There are heavy weapons “to flatten your enemies” and “alchemical rifles” for ranged attacks.
Steelrising is in development for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.
