After launching in closed beta last week to a ritzy group of lucky lads and ladies, Valve has announced that its Steam Mobile application is now available to even the commonest of proles – provided they own an iOS or Android smartphone, that is.

Steam Mobile can be downloaded from your respective digital storefront; nestled in comfortably between a Bejeweled clone and a comedy farting app.

How much does it cost? No pence! Zero dollars! It’s (Gordon) Free, man!

Steam Mobile allows users access to the features of the Steam community – such as screenshots, chat and groups. You can also buy games from the overflowing Steam store, which is not something I’m sure most of us should be given such easy access to.
