The start time for State of Play September 2025 is nearly here, and there are some exciting possible leaks to look forward to including a new God of War. Rumors of a State of Play for this month originally emerged in August, but now the event has been confirmed by Sony. It’s a big event set to last over 30-minutes, and hopefully there will be plenty of neat surprises as well as fantastic gameplay trailers and demonstrations.
When does State of Play September 2025 start?
The start time for State of Play September 2025 is 2PM PT/5PM ET/10PM BST on September 24th. All these hours are officially confirmed on the PlayStation Blog.
The only game confirmed for the showcase is Saros. This is the next game from Housemarque, the developers of Returnal. We don’t know much about Saros right now, but we do know that it is single-player, and that Housemarque intend to keep making single-player experiences “as long as people are buying premium games”. Thanks to Sony’s announcement, we know we are set to see 5-minutes of gameplay on the PS5.
Nothing else is confirmed for the event, but it’s possible we could get one final trailer for Ghost of Yotei. This is because the release date for the highly-anticipated sequel is set for October 2nd, and former PlayStation President, Shuhei Yoshida, has said Ghost of Yotei is “even better” than Tsushima.

How to watch
You will be able to watch the broadcast live on either the PlayStation YouTube channel or Twitch. It will last more than 35-minutes, and, aside from confirming the inclusion of Saros, Sony has teased “looks at anticipated third-party and indie titles,” as well as “reveals and news from developers around the world”.
Possible State of Play September 2025 leaks
Leaks and rumors have claimed that Marvel’s Wolverine, developed by Insomniac, will finally reemerge during this State of Play. We haven’t seen anything of Marvel’s Wolverine since its reveal trailer during PlayStation Showcase 2021 as well as the aftermath of huge leaks showing chunks of in-development gameplay as well as story spoilers. Rumors insist that the game is set to release in 2026, so hopefully Logan will make an appearance.
In addition to the return of Wolverine, there are persistent rumors of a new God of War. Rather than the next AAA adventure starring Kratos, these leaks are about a 2.5D Metroidvania God of War spin-off that allegedly suffered an “internal delay” according to Jeff Grubb. This alleged internal delay supposedly pushes it back from a holiday 2025 release to 2026, but that remains to be seen.
It’s rumored Resident Evil 9 Requiem will make an appearance, too, but there are also leaks of Leon being revealed during TGS along with the ability to pre-order.
Lastly, away from the imminent State of Play, leaks have also possibly revealed the first PS Plus game for October 2025, and it could be bittersweet for fans of an iconic franchise that is turning 29-years old.
