StarCraft II won’t be released in 2007

The highly anticipated RTS sequel was officially unveiled earlier this month, but the series’ dedicated fan base will have to wait to get their hands on the final product.

Although unable to reveal the game’s planned release date, Rob Pardo, Blizzard’s VP of game design, has confirmed to MSNBC that we definitely won’t be seeing the game this year.

The only thing I can give you [that’s] concrete is it’s not going to be this year,” said Pardo. “Some people were hoping, because of how advanced the game looks, that we’d have it out by Christmas, but that’s definitely not happening.
