StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, the second chapter in the StarCraft II saga, will probably be released after 2011, Blizzard’s Chris Sigaty has confirmed during a BlizzCon 2010 Q&A panel.
The date ties in with a spring launch suggested earlier this month by Battle.net project director Greg Canessa, who put an 18 month time frame on the next instalment.
Sigaty also confirmed that Heart of the Swarm will take place after events of Wings of Liberty, but wouldn’t be any more specific than less than 100 years after.

It would appear StarCraft fans are in for a long wait to get their hands on the next instalment in the RTS series. Blizzard is not a studio known for its swift turnaround and won’t be rushed into putting out a product, even if the fans are begging for it.
Blizzard has, however, confirmed continued support for Wings of Liberty. At BlizzCon four internally developed mods were shown off: Blizzard DOTA, StarJeweled, Left 2 Die and Aiur Chef. Each will be free to download.
