StarCraft: Ghost leaves current-gen systems

It hasn’t had the smoothest production history, and now StarCraft: Ghost has been dealt its most severe setback. Blizzard has announced that it “will indefinitely postpone production” on the game, the company now shifting its focus to the next-gen systems. It’s not all doom and gloom on the StarCraft: Ghost front though, with Blizzard stating that it is evaluating the potential of a next-gen version of the game. Should this go ahead we can expect the game to make use of the extra horsepower to deliver a more impressive game than was originally planned.

Like many in the industry, we’ve been impressed with the potential of the new consoles, and we’re looking forward to exploring that potential further,” said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “In addition to allowing us to determine the best course for StarCraft: Ghost, this review period will help us lay the groundwork for our future console games.
