BioWare has patched a recent bug that lets users exploit turrets during PvP in Star Wars: The Old Republic.

The exploit reared its head after the release of the MMO’s first major content patch, Rise of the Rakghouls, and allowed players to spawn and camp around turrets, giving them a significant advantage during PvP.

In an official post by BioWare, it was explained that the team is publishing an Emergency patch in order to fix the issue.

“Our intended design for Ilum Open World PvP is that players are instantly killed when entering the enemy’s base safe area, just like in Warzones, and that the defending faction can take taxis to other points within the zone,” explained PvP lead Gabe Amatangelo.

“In Game Update 1.1, this is not working as intended. We have found the issue preventing this from happening under server load and will be publishing an Emergency Patch to address the issue.”

The game’s associate community manager Joveth Gonzalez added a warning to users who do decide to use the exploit, stating the studio is already aware of those who took advantage of the bug.

“I just wanted to be clear and let you all know that we’re definitely aware of individuals who took extreme advantage of this situation and we will be carefully evaluating and taking action as necessary.”

Despite the recent Rise of the Rakghouls update being delayed in order to deal with further bug issues, this is one of the numerous bugs to be fixed since launch.
