Star Wars: The Old Republic will allow users to have relationships with their companions, however same-sex romances are not on the cards.

Speaking to BioWare Pulse, the MMO’s producer Cory Butler confirmed such relationships would not be available to players.

This follows in line with a post made to the official Star Wars: The Old Republic forum by community manager Sean Dahlberg, in response to a question of how the game would handle gay relationships:

“As I have stated before, these are terms that do not exist in Star Wars. Thread closed.”

BioWare’s upcoming Mass Effect 3, however, is set to feature same-sex love interests for both males and females.
