Killzone 3 Multiplayer, a standalone edition of Killzone 3’s multiplayer modes, will be released on the European PlayStation Store tomorrow, Sony has confirmed.

The download includes the Guerrilla Warfare, Warzone and Operations game modes, as well as the original Killzone 3 maps and all Killzone 3 DLC maps.

All this is free until you reach the rank of Sergeant. If you want to keep playing beyond this point, and earn Killzone 3 Multiplayer’s four exclusive trophies, you can unlock the full version for £11.99.

Grabbing the full version will also grant you a 24-hour double XP bonus, three free unlock points, the ability to set up clans and custom games, and access to the Botzone mode.

If you already have Killzone 3 or purchase the full version of Killzone 3 multiplayer you can enjoy a Double XP Weekend, starting Friday, March 2 at 17:00 GMT and lasting until Monday, March 5 at 10:00 GMT.

The trial version of Killzone 3 Multiplayer is excluded from the Double XP Weekend.

What’s not clear is whether or not existing owners of Killzone 3 will now be given the multiplayer map DLC for free.
