The Avengers, a new game from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal based on the hugely popular Marvel super heroes, has been announced by Square Enix.
The game is the first in a new multi-year, multi-game licensing agreement between Square Enix and Marvel Entertainment to develop and publish original games based on Marvel Super Heroes.
The Avengers game will feature all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that fans will expect, all tied together with an original story. Interestingly, the press release notes the game will “introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come”
“Marvel’s diverse, innovative universe has created millions of longtime fans, including all of us,” said Phil Rogers, CEO, Square Enix Americas and Europe. “It’s exciting to bring together Square Enix’s award-winning development studios with Marvel’s extraordinary storytellers to establish a new entertainment powerhouse. This collaboration of passion and talent will craft epic, imaginative experiences allowing gamers to live out their Super Hero dreams like never before.”
More details on The Avengers game and other Marvel titles will be announced in 2018.
