Square Enix Montreal has revealed that it's called time on the popular line of GO mobile titles, blaming the price as a major factor in discontinuing the brand.

Speaking with PC Games Insider (via PocketGamer) studio head Patrick Naud said there's just not much demand for premium mobile titles anymore.

'I have to say no [we're not working on other Go games], I'm sorry,' he said.

'It’s one of the challenges we have today is the premium mobile market is diminishing,' added Naud. 'You’ve got more and more high-quality free titles, so there are even fewer and fewer people inclined to try something that will not be free.'

The news probably isn't all that much of a shocker, seeing as how the series hasn't received a new entry since Deus Ex GO two years ago. The series kicked off in 2014 with the release of Hitman GO and was followed a year later with Lara Croft GO.

While Deus Ex GO was a bit naff, the first two games were actually pretty solid in their own right; so much so they were ported to other formats including PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
