US video game magazine Game Informer reports that the already much delayed Spore will now ship in EA’s fiscal year 2009.
Only last month EA’s Chief Executive Officer, John Riccitiello, said that Spore’s release “will be right up [to] the bubble in Q4 [of fiscal ’08], if not sometime in early fiscal ’09“.
With the game now almost certain to ship after March 2008, rumours are rife that EA is working on console versions, although at this time only a DS version has been confirmed.
It’s likely that EA will clarify its plans for the game at E3 next month.
