The Splinter Cell Trilogy HD will be released on March 22 in North America, Ubisoft has confirmed. Ubisoft couldn’t confirm a UK release date when contacted by VideoGamer.com this morning.

Play.com has the set listed for April 29, 2011.

The Trilogy features HD versions of PS2 titles, Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. The games will also be playable in 3D.

In the US the games will be available at retail on Blu-ray and via the PlayStation Store.

The Xbox Splinter Cell games were always superior to the PS2 versions, which makes this trilogy a little disappointing. However, we’ll wait to see the quality of the ports before we make too firm a judgement.
