Speakeasy, a local multiplayer party game which mixes rock-paper-scissors fighting action with the style and sound of 1920s America, is in development for PS4, Gun Media and SuperSoul have announced.

Taking on the role of a fighter vying for the Fisticuffs League Champion crown, players simply need to land one punch to win. The twist is that you only get one punch, one block and one fake each round. In addition, rounds only last 10 seconds.

Characters available include bare-knuckle brawler Richard Slugging, high-flying Amelia Airborne, the electrifying Nikola Volt, the temperate Carrie Hatchet, jazz legend Barrelhouse Jones and the melancholy Charlie the Tramp. Each fighter also features multiple costumes, props and unlockables.

A range of modes also mix things up a little. Twos and Threes give players the ability to use each move two or three times each match. Tag Team puts teams of fighters against each other, whilst King of the Hill will allow for up to four players to battle at the same time.

And if you’ve got a lot of people sat around the TV the 16-player tournament mode gives everyone the chance to take part.

A release date hasn’t been announced.
