South Korea has finally implemented what has been dubbed the “Cinderella Law” which blocks players under the age of 16 from playing online games between midnight and 6am.

This will also affect online services such as PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, Gamasutra reports.

The law was first proposed to counter the possibility of video game addiction thought by the Korean government to be growing rapidly.

We covered the evolution of this “gaming curfew” legislation earlier in the year, analysing what particular affect it may have, and similar laws in the West.

While this has been established as a way to combat video game addiction, the government has still failed to prove playing video games is more harmful than exposure to any other media.
