Inferno, the fiery baddie who made a name for himself as the resident Big Bad of SoulCalibur, will be getting up to all sorts of dastardly deed as the antagonist of SoulCalibur IV, Bandai Namco Games has revealed.

For those who haven't done their homework, Inferno has been knocking around since ancient times, and was the final boss of the first three games in the series. He's essentially the evil spirit of Soul Edge, and therefore knows how to handle himself in a ruck.

In fact, his power is not only greater than any other SoulCalibur fighter, but he can mimic any style and even transport his foes into Astral Chaos at any time. If that wasn't enough, Inferno can also possess anything he fancies, living or dead.

Unsurprisingly, Inferno is not playable in SoulCalibur VI's online multiplayer mode, as that would just be totally unfair. Kind of like Jinpachi Mishima in Tekken 5; he's simply too powerful to make it a fair fight.

SoulCalibur VI is due for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on October 19.
