SoulCalibur VI is welcoming back two of the series' most renowned combatants in the shape of Astaroth and Seong Mi-Nan, Bandai Namco Games announced at Evo 2018 over the weekend.

Axe-wielding hulk Astaroth first appeared in 1999's brilliant Dreamcast brawler SoulCalibur, and is a bit comparable to Jack from the Tekken series; slow on speed but an absolute monster in terms of dealing damage.

Astaroth is very much a smash first, ask questions later type of bloke, and was born out of a God of War-worshipping cult.

Meanwhile, Seong Mi-Na first appeared in 1996's Soul Edge, and is known by her nickname Heart and Soul Girl. She's extremely proficient in long-range weapons, although has garnered a reputation among players as a low-tier fighter.

SoulCalibur VI is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on October 19.

The fighting game sequel will bring back a number of classic brawlers, including Voldo, Talim, Maxi, and Yoshimitsu.
