Sony has said that it will have more information on the PlayStation Vita version of Minecraft “in a few weeks”, suggesting the game may not release until at least October.
In a blog post discussing the game’s disc release on PS4, product manager Kimberley Piper-Bowles said that “for those waiting for the PS Vita Edition, we’ll have more information on this in a few weeks and will include full details on how the Cross-Buy works between the PS3 and PS Vita Editions.”
The PS Vita Edition had previously been rumoured to launch in September after the date was spotted in an official ad for the console. Sony has yet to formally confirm a date, however.
A disc-based version is due to arrive on PS4 on October 3 following its digital launch earlier this month.
Earlier this week, Microsoft announced a deal worth over $2.5bn to acquire Minecraft and developer Mojang.
