Sony’s announced it will celebrate the June launch of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker with a limited edition Walkman W252 MP3 player.

The Walkman will feature a unique camouflage finish and come bundled with six pre-installed music tracks from Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and a special in-carton code to unlock new characters in the game.

In the game players can collect iconic Walkman models from the past, including the first-ever cassette-based Walkman that made its debut in 1979.

The Walkman W252 is the first wire-free MP3 player from Sony that resists rain splashes or the sweat of a gruelling gym session. After exercising, just rinse under the tap – or even keep listening during a post-workout shower.

Its 2GB capacity provides storage space for up to 470 songs and a quick three-minute charge provides enough power for 90 minutes listening time. A fully charged battery offers up to 11 hours of uninterrupted listening.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is scheduled for release on June 18. The Walkman W252 will be released in June and can be purchased from sony.co.uk.
