Whether it has anything to do with the launch of the PS3 or not – more likely thanks to the Thanksgiving holiday – the PS2 continues to sell well in North America. Sony Computer Entertainment America communications boss David Karraker revealed that week-on-week sales of the PS2 ending November 26 are up 116.5%. Likewise, PSP sales are up by a staggering 280.5%.

Software sales were also good, with PS2 up by 120.6% and PSP up by 167.9%. These figures are based on stats collected from the top five North American retailers.

But what of the PS3? Sony isn’t releasing any numbers just yet, but Karraker did confirm that more units are arriving this week, and reiterated that SCEA has been airlifting additional units to North America since the system launched on November 17.
