Sony has announced details of its next State of Play broadcast to take place later this week on Thursday, May 9, confirming that new footage from the upcoming MediEvil remake will feature heavily in the ten minute broadcast.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation blog, Sony revealed that PlayStation Worldwide Studios will showcase an 'extended look' at the updated re-imagining of the PS1 classic, as well as teasing a 'first look' at a new, as yet unknown title.

Those expecting news on the next generation might be disappointed though, as Sony points out to not 'expect any updates relating to our next-generation plans this time'. Looks like any more news about PS5 will have to wait a little longer.

MediEvil still doesn't have a release date outside of 2019 as per the most recent trailer, unless one gets announced as part of the broadcast. You'll have to wait until Thursday, May 9 at 11pm UK time (BST) to find out.
