The new Media Manager software from Sony is designed to be an all-in-one answer to a PSP user’s media needs. The PC application features a drag and drop interface making it a piece of cake to load up files to be transferred to the PSP. Thumbnails make it simple and quick to identify the files you are looking at, and for peace of mind there’s also a simple backup function so none of your precious files will be lost.
The software supports a multitude of file types including jpeg, wav, wma, avi, mp3, mp4, and mpeg. Once the file has been dragged into the Media Manager the conversion to a PSP compatible media format is carried out for you, with no complex user interaction required.
A downloadable version of the Media Manager is available now for US $19.95 at www.sony.com/mediasoftware, and a boxed version which will include a 6-foot USB 2.0 cable, sample media, and 5 free song downloads from the CONNECT music store will be available online at www.sony.com/mediasoftware or www.sonystyle.com from December, 1st retailing at US $29.95. If you order before December 31st you will save $5 on the asking price.
