Back in March, Sony and Immersion announced they had entered into a new agreement which would see Immersion’s rumble technology included in future PlayStation products. No specifics were mentioned but thoughts immediately turned to a rumble-equipped Sixaxis.
Sony has since denied such rumours and recently when chatting to GamePro has once again denied that rumble is being implemented into the PS3 controller – other changes are coming though.
“We recently sent out to the development community some new prototypes that have a slightly enhanced sensitivity for the analogue sticks and motion sensing within the Sixaxis controller,” said Karraker who noted that the company has “not added rumble and have no announcements regarding this feature.“
We still believe we’ll see a rumbling Sixaxis sooner rather than later.
