Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has today announced the upcoming spring release of Buzz! for PSP. The game will feature over 5,000 questions on topics including music, celebrities, TV, sport, science, nature, movies and general knowledge. An additional 1000 picture and video questions will also be packed into the UMD.

Buzz! has always been a about social play and the PSP version, despite being on a small screen, will include three multiplayer modes. Pass Around is a mode which enables players to participate in the quiz with only one copy of the game and one PSP. The mode will let players prey on their opponents’ weaknesses, choosing who you pass the PSP to.

If you do happen to be in the situation where your friends all have PSPs then the game will also support game sharing. In Game Share mode up to four players can take part with only one copy of the game. This is a fastest finger first mode of play so you’ll have to ensure you’ve got your wits about you. The final multiplayer mode is Quick Host, in which one of the players takes control of the game, selecting and asking the other players questions. The host will also have the power to reward and deduct points. This mode is for up to six players and also supports game sharing.

If you find yourself alone then Buzz! for PSP has also been designed to feature a more complete single-player challenge. Players will be presented with a series of 15 quiz challenges designed to test all aspects of general knowledge. In each round players can earn medals for their performance, with the goal to reach gold status on each of the 15 challenges.

Buzz! for PSP is scheduled for release in the spring.
