As part of SEGA’s celebrations/cash-ins for Sonic’s 15th anniversary, a port of the classic Mega Drive title is on its way to the GBA. The game has been given the name Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis (Mega Drive was known as Genesis outside of Europe), and will feature all seven of the game’s stages perfectly ported to the small screen.

In addition the game will feature the ability to save your progress, something not previously possible. There’s also the inclusion of a special Anniversary Mode in which Sonic has been given the Spin Dash move. As a final reward, the game’s original soundtrack can be unlocked as you progress through the seven stages.

There’s no word on a European release, but the game will be in North American stores from November 14.
