A never-before-released level from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be part of the remastered iOS and Android release of the game, Joystiq reports.
The Hidden Palace Zone – originally planned as a bonus stage to show off Sonic’s transformation into Super Sonic – was scrapped during the development of Sonic 2. However, this level will be restored for the new mobile release.
The enhanced port has been created by Sonic Retro members Simon Thomley and Christian Whitehead, who were responsible for the multi-platform Sonic CD release in 2011.
The existing iOS version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be updated to the remastered version today, with a seperate Android version also due to roll out.
