SEGA has released a new trailer for Sonic Forces, unveiling the new villain Infinite. Set against the musical backdrop of what can only be described as EDM/Nu-Metal, Infinite makes his introduction after kicking Sonic’s ass. Unlucky blue chap.

The trailer shows more of the villain Infinite in action, basically opening a can of whoop-ass on Sonic throughout. Infinite joins up with Eggman’s posse, consisting of Metal Sonic, Shadow, Zavok and Chaos. This motley crew have already taken over the world, and they’ll do anything and everything to stop Sonic from thwarting their plans, before restoring peace and order.

Infinite was originally revealed at E3 2017, but this is the first time we’ve seen him in action. First impressions are that he seems much faster and stronger than Sonic, but it won’t be long until Sonic finds his achilles heel. Oh, there’s an idea. Stab him in the achilles, Sonic.

Sonic Forces is an amalgamation of gameplay from previous Sonic games, combining 3D and 2D levels for players to explore and enjoy. The first of two sonic games out this year, I know which one I’m waiting for. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer replete with Infinite’s rocking anthem.

Sonic Forces is currently scheduled for a worldwide release later in 2017, it will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
