Sega has released a new story trailer for Sonic Forces, which gives us a little bit of backstory to the game that’s out on November 7. The trailer may only be 90 or so seconds long, but the acting doesn’t fill me with much hope, and there’s been some really bad examples over the years.

In the trailer, Dr. Eggman has pretty much taken over the world, and he’s ranting and raving about how much he hates the blue hedgehog. It’s up to Sonic, along with his friends, to find a way of taking back control and supplanting the raving lunatic with the epic ‘tache. But things won’t be quite so simple with Eggman’s new right-hand man, the mysterious Infinite.

As with every 3D Sonic game, expect terrible pop rock music and hammy acting — it’s no Sonic Mania, that’s for sure. If the standard edition of Sonic Forces isn’t enough for you and you’re hankering after some more of the blue ‘hog, there’s a pre-order only Bonus Edition with art cards and a DLC add-on pack.

Sonic Forces is currently scheduled for release on November 7 for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
