One of the major selling points in the upcoming Nintendo Switch title, Super Mario Odyssey, is that Mario can capture things (not possess them) with his hat and then control them. Because the internet can be brilliant sometimes, someone has modded Super Mario 64 to include the unreleased game’s mechanic.

As you can see in the video below, Mario modder Kaze Emanuar (as spotted by Polygon) has posted a video on their YouTube showing Mario throwing his hat on Goombas, blocks, rotating platforms, and more.

This is obviously footage from an emulator, so approach with caution if you want to try it out for yourself. Either way, though, you can’t help but smile when watching it in action.

Super Mario Odyssey is set to launch on Nintendo Switch on October 27.
