Sony Online Entertainment already has a five-year plan in place for its upcoming MMOFPS title PlanetSide 2.

Speaking to Massively, the game’s art director Tramell Isaac stated the team has plans in the works for “extensive content updates” over the next few years.

They also plan to add new items to the game’s microtransaction store on a regular basis, in a similar vein to EverQuest II’s regular station cash marketplace updates.

It is also suggested the studio hopes to cater to casual as well as hardcore users, and have developed the game in such a way that “five-minute players” will be as immersed in the world as “the five-year player”.

PlanetSide 2 is the free-to-play sequel to the 2003 title PlanetSide. No official release date has been announced. For more read our PlanetSide 2 interview.
