Sniper Elite 4 will be getting support for the PS4 Pro, and DirectX 12 on the PC, when it launches later this month. According to the developer Rebellion PS4 Pro users will be offered ‘a number of technical improvements’, including the following:

  • Enhanced frame rate
  • Increased draw distances
  • Increased geometry level of detail
  • Improved lighting and shadows fidelity
  • Increased image quality of reflections
  • Faster loading times

Chris Kinglsey, CTO and co-founder at Rebellion, said ‘We’ve worked really hard to make Sniper Elite 4 our biggest and best game ever, and now the power of PlayStation 4 Pro, and DirectX 12 on PC, means we can take things even further,’ adding ‘We’re turning everything up to 12!’, which you’ll note is one better than Spinal Tap aimed for.

Worry not if you don’t have DirectX 12, because the game will still support DirectX 11.

The third-person tactical shooter is probably best known for its X-Ray killcam, which kicks in when you shoot an enemy at long distance, tracking the bullet in slow motion and showing what it does to the bones and organs of whichever poor unfortunate you’re trying to kill.

Sniper Elite 4 is out on February 14 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, for the romantic Nazi killer in your life
