While Rebellion still hopes to achieve parity between the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Sniper Elite 3, the game may end up running “a little bit slower on Xbox One” than Sony’s console, 505 Games has said.

In an interview with Gaming Bolt, senior producer Jean-Baptiste Bolcato revealed that Rebellion was aiming to get “as close as possible to 60 frames per second on both the systems.

“It will probably be closer to 60 on the PS4 but it drops to around 40 and 50, but you won’t really feel or notice it,” he said. “It may be a little bit slower on Xbox One but we are hoping to have full [parity] between the two machines.”

The Xbox One won’t feature support for stereoscopic 3D either, Bolcato said, “as they do not support it yet”.

Bolcato’s comments round off another bad week for Microsoft that has already seen Hideo Kojima reveal that the Xbox One version of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes won’t look quite as good as the PS4 version.

Sniper Elite 3 launches on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC in the second half of 2014.
