Smoke and Sacrifice is the new RPG from Solar Sail Games

Publisher Curve Digital has lifted the wraps off Smoke and Sacrifice, a brand new RPG from Solar Sail Games. Currently in development for PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Switch, Smoke and Sacrifice boasts a vibrant hand-painted aesthetic and is pencilled in for release at some point later this year. 

The game plonks players in the role of a lass named Sachi, who embarks on a quest to discover the fate of her child. Drawing inspiration from ‘modern survival classics,’ Smoke and Sacrifice takes place in a ‘darkly fantastical world’ boasting an intricate ecosystem where its inhabitants are free to roam, mate, and even prey on each other.

Weaving an emotionally-charged story of motherhood and survival, players must contend not only with the myriad of grotesque creatures snapping at your heels, but also the world itself. As Sachi, gamers are able to manipulate the behaviour of these critters, but doing so may bite you in the backside as you could end up limiting the amount of valuable resources available to you.

‘We’re thrilled to finally announce Smoke and Sacrifice after keeping the project to ourselves for so long,’ beamed Solar Sail Games’ co-founder, Tancred Dyke-Wells. ‘With both myself and Neil Millstone having produced games for major studios, Smoke and Sacrifice is an opportunity for us to go back to our roots and create a genuinely intimate story in a compelling world.’

A concrete release date for Smoke and Sacrifice has yet to be announced.
