Square Enix has revealed new details on the PS4 and Xbox One re-release of Sleeping Dogs, highlighting the line-up of improvements due to be included in next month’s remaster.

Speaking on the game’s official forum, community manager GDArcan revealed that Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will feature higher resolution textures over the last-gen release, along with increased draw distances and new volumetric fog “to represent the humidity of Hong Kong”.

Square Enix has previously confirmed that the game will render at native 1080p.

Alongside the visual tweaks, United Front Games has also made changes to the game’s camera, vehicles and physics, the community manager says, although it isn’t clear how they’ve been improved.

In a separate post, GDArcan assured fans that development of the Definitive Edition had not impacted the development of Sleeping Dogs sequel Triad Wars “in any way”.

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 10.
