Rather than just whinge to his forum buddies about the glitches he encountered playing Saints Row, one gamer has actually turned his experiences into an inspired piece of musical theatre.
Buggy Saints Row: The Musical features videos of chortle-inducing glitches, like disappearing cars that leave players hovering magically in the air, all set to Andrew Lloyd Webber-style tunes. Blogger Cabel filmed all the clips himself but wasn’t sure they were funny enough to post on the net, until he came up with the genius idea of providing some musical accompaniment.
He explained: “They needed a hot comedy injection, a little something to tie it all together. And then it hit me: musical theatre. What better compliment to the rough and tumble world of Saints Row?”
Indeed, and personally we would much rather listen to the heartfelt strains of This Game is a Piece of Work and the moving Is It From Earth that I Fell Down Here? (when the player is trapped far below the game world) than anything from Jesus Christ Superstar or Cats, well except maybe Memories – that’s a classic.
