In The Sims 2 your Sims would go to work, but their activities were something you were not privy to. Now, with the announcement of The Sims 2 Open for Business, what they do at work is most definitely your business. Your Sims won’t simply be heading off to the local store to put in a 9-5 shift, but will set up and create new business ventures.

The choice of business is wide open and your Sims could choose to work in fashion, open a restaurant or even start an original business of your own creation. Once you pick a business idea you will have full control over the venture, including employees, materials, and merchandise. You will have to deal with clientele and keep your regulars happy, all whilst insuring you run a tight ship and turn a tidy profit.

For years players have been asking for the ability to play with their Sims in a work environment. Now they will be able to do just that, unlocking not only their Sims business potential, but their own as well. It’s really a whole new way to play the game,” said senior producer, Tim LeTourneau.

The Sims 2 Open for Business is due for release later this year.
