A closed beta for The Crew Wild Run will begin on October 15, Ubisoft has announced.

The beta will give players the chance to try out the upcoming update to last year’s open-world racing game, boasting new modes and completely reworked visuals.

The beta runs from 11am October 15 to 11am October 19, with positions in the test available by signing up on the game’s website.

Ubisoft must be liking the work of The Crew developer Ivory Tower because it has announced the acquisition of the Lyon-based team.

“We’ve always enjoyed a very positive relationship with Ubisoft,” said Ivory Tower MD Ahmed Boukhelifa.

“Working together on The Crew, and celebrating its success, made us both understand that we have huge potential in continuing to work together in the future. By joining Ubisoft, the team at Ivory Tower will continue to benefit from Ubisoft’s infrastructure, support, tools, technology and vision. In return, we will contribute our own expertise to the broader Ubisoft story.”

The Crew Wild Run expansion will be available for download starting from November 17, and in a bundle with the base game and the expansion in stores on November 19. The updated visuals will be offered to existing players as a free update without needing to buy Wild Run.
