Defunct publishing label Sierra is officially coming back, and has announced plans to work with “gifted up-and-coming” indie developers on classic Sierra IP.

Two of the publisher’s first titles will be Geometry Wars 3 and a new game in the King’s Quest series.

As reported by VentureBeat, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions is currently in development at Liverpool-based studio Lucid Games (formed by former members of Bizarre Creations) and is due for release this holiday.

The game will reportedly feature a single-player campaign with 50 different challenges and 10 unique battle modes.

Meanwhile, the new King’s Quest game is set to follow in 2015 and is described as a “reimagined” take on the original adventure series currently in development at The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom developer The Odd Gentlemen.

Formats for either title have yet to be confirmed.

“Sierra’s goal is to find and work with gifted up-and-coming indie developers working on their own amazing projects or who are passionate about working on great Sierra IP,” Sierra director of external development said, as reported by VentureBeat. “We’re in talks with a large number of other indie devs, and we can’t wait to share more details with fans in the near future.”
